Labour Compliance The Government of Tamil Nadu on May 19, 2023, issued the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2023 to further amend the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act, 1947.

The following has been amended namely: -

• The following sections have been inserted namely: -

1. 22-B which states “Drinking Water”

2. 22-C which states “Latrine and Urinals”

3. 22-D which states “Restroom and lunch room”

4. 22-E which states “First Aid”

It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may by notification, appoint.
