The Government of Maharashtra on July 06, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Database of the Unorganized Sector Workers in the state.
The following has been stated: -
•In view of the central government's guidelines for keeping complete/detailed information about workers in a computerized manner, the unorganized workers were classified into fields and occupations/jobs in lieu of the National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW-National Database of Unorganized Workers) and the e-Shram portal.
• In order to make the said classification comprehensive, the classification of unorganized workers into 39 sectors and 340 occupations as per the attached Annexure-1 along with the inclusion of some other occupations in the unorganized sector in the above classification is approved by this government decision.
