The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on July 10, 2023, published a notification regarding the Referral Food Laboratories notified by FSSAI under section 43(2) of the FSS Act, 2006
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that it has been decided by the Competent Authority that, the Appellate/Referral samples may be sent to any Referral Laboratory as per their valid NABL scope of testing irrespective of their areas of jurisdiction. An amendment to this effect shall be processed in due course of time.
• It further states that all the stakeholders are requested to send the Referral/Appellate samples to any Referral Food Laboratory as per their valid NABL scope irrespective of their area of jurisdiction.
• The list of 22 FSSAI-Notified Referral Food Laboratories, along with their FSSAI Registration Number and corresponding Gazette Notification Number is annexed (Annexure-I).
