The Government of Maharashtra on July 10, 2023, notified the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 further to amend the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960.
The amendment is as follows: -
•In section 73 in sub-section (1A), clause (a) which talks about the management of the committee's powers and function following words “three months from the date of its registration or reconstruction, as the case may be” have been added.
•In section 101 sub-section (1), which explains the Recovery of arrears due to certain societies as arrears of recovery of land revenue, the word “individual” shall be deleted from it.
It shall come into force at once.
