The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on July 14, 2023, released the Wholesale Price Index for the month of June 2023
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the annual rate of inflation based on all India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) numbers is (-) 4.12% (provisional) for the month of June 2023 (over June 2022) against (-) 3.48% recorded in May 2023.
• It states that the decline in the rate of inflation in June 2023 is primarily due to a fall in prices of mineral oils, food products, basic metals, crude petroleum & natural gas, and textiles.
• The Month over Month Change in Major Groups of WPI has been divided into the following categories namely: -
(i) Primary Articles (Weight 22.62%)
(ii) Fuel & Power (Weight 13.15%)
(iii) Manufactured Products (Weight 64.23%)
• It further states that the WPI for the month of July 2023 would be released on August 14, 2023
