The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on July 14, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Linking of PAN with Aadhaar.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The status of clients’ where PAN of holder/s has become inoperative due to non-linking of PAN with Aadhaar, shall be updated as INACTIVE & transaction execution shall not be allowed on BSE StAR MF platform with immediate effect.
• The following actions shall be taken wherein the PAN of the holder/s has not been linked to Aadhaar:
1. SIP/XSIP/ISIP registrations shall be paused for one year with remarks such as “PAN-Aadhaar link is pending”.
2. Orders for STP/ASTP/SWP registrations shall be triggered and cancelled by the Exchange.
• The information of all such inactive UCCs shall be made available to members in PAN – Aadhaar Status Report
• For all such UCCs where the PAN is not linked to Aadhaar, members have been provided with an upload facility to make the status of such UCCs Inactive.
• A bulk upload option has been provided in the member login to upload the PAN no. of the client where PAN and Aadhaar are successfully linked in Income Tax.
• Further, the PAN no. uploaded by members shall be verified for the latest status (KYC verified/validated) available in KRA systems. Subsequently, all such inactive UCCs shall be updated with the status as ‘Active’ and all corresponding systematic registrations, which were paused shall become ‘Active’ with remarks as “PAN-Aadhaar link is updated”
