The Government of Andhra Pradesh on July 14, 2023, notified the First Amendment to APERC Renewable Power Purchase Obligation (Compliance by Purchase of Renewable Energy / Renewable Energy Certificates) Regulations, 2022 further to amend the APERC Renewable Power Purchase Obligation (Compliance by Purchase of Renewable Energy / Renewable Energy Certificates) Regulations, 2022.
The following has been amended namely: -
•A new proviso has been added in the sub-clause 3.3 of clause 3 which talks about the purchase of Renewable Energy by the captive consumer from the Distribution Licensee as per the procedure stipulated in clause 3.4 of this regulation shall also be counted towards the fulfillment of RPPO by such a captive Consumer.
•A new sub-clause 3.4 of clause 3 has been added which talks about the Renewable Energy procurement from the Distribution Licensee by obligated entities/non-obligated entities at Green Tariff without the need to change of category.
These regulations shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
