The Government of Assam on July 10, 2023, notified the Assam Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 further to amend the Assam Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1936.
The following has been amended namely: -
•Section 4E which talks about the Motor Vehicle Tax on all types of sleeper buses has been amended.
•Amendment in Section 5A which talks about the fine for delayed payments that is Rupees 20 per day.
•Amendment in Schedule I and Schedule II has been done.
It shall come into force at once.
