The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) on July 18, 2023, notified the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023 further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following has been amended namely: -
•In rule (15), in sub-rule (1), a clause (e) has been inserted which talks about the guidelines on accessible sports complexes and residential facilities for sports persons with disabilities, notified by the Government of India in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Department of Sports), vide notification number 7-6/MYAS/MDSD/2021 dated October 13, 2022, as amended from time to time.
These rules shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
