Secretarial ComplianceThe Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on July 20, 2023, issued an advisory regarding the Bandwidth Capacity Planning /Link Upgrade

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that the Trading Members are advised that they should plan and upgrade their link capacity in order to manage the load. Particularly if they are using the same link for multiple active segments like Equity, Equity Derivatives, Currency derivatives, etc.

• The trading members are further directed to have a secondary link as a backup to the primary link of an equal capacity through a different service provider.

• The Link costing-related details are available in Master Circular IT 2023 on the link Notice Number (bseindia.com)

• The Trading Members are requested to note the fact that the lead time required for capacity increase for existing links is around 2 to 3 weeks whereas for new links the same is around 8 to 10 weeks.  The lead time mentioned is indicative and is subject to the feasibility of the service provider.

• The Trading Members should be aware that capacity planning is their responsibility and should be done proactively to ensure smooth operations.
