Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) on July 18, 2023, issued an advisory regarding the inclusion of classification ratings in promotional and publicity material.

The Code of Ethics for online curated content under the Rules inter alia provides for the classification of content into age-based categories, the inclusion of the classification rating and consumer advice for their programmes in any print television of online promotional or publicity material, and prominent display of the classification rating specific to each content in such material.

Publishers of online curated content are recommended to take note of the aforementioned in order to take necessary action regarding the display of age-based categorization ratings in adverts and other promotional material published by them on various media platforms.
