The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) on July 21, 2023, notified the draft Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023 further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following has been amended: -
•In rule 15 sub-rule (1) a new clause (h) has been added which specifies the Rural Sector Specific Harmonised accessibility standards/guidelines.
They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
And it is informed all persons likely to be affected to submit any objections or suggestions before the expiry of a period of thirty days.
