The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on July 21, 2023, issued the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Right of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 15 which specifies ‘Rules for Accessibility’, in sub-rule (1), after clause (e), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: -
“(f) the Accessibility Standards and Guidelines for Civil Aviation 2022, notified by the Government of India in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, vide notification number AV-24032/56/2021-AAI-MoCA, dated January 09, 2023, as amended from time to time.”
They shall come into force on July 21, 2023.
