The Women and Child Development Department, Haryana on July 21, 2023, issued the Haryana State Creche Policy-2022.
It is stated that the investments in Early Childhood Development programs promote gender equality and increase the female labour force participation rate by addressing the need to share women's childcare responsibilities and freeing young girls from the burden of sibling care. Quality ECD provisions positively impact the current and future human capital and thereby immensely contribute towards the well-being and economic growth of the society.
The Haryana government recognizes the necessity of investing in Early Childhood Development projects for the social and economic benefits they provide. The Haryana State Policy on Early Childhood Development commits the state to provide universal, comprehensive, and high-quality ECD services to all children (from conception to age eight) in the state, with a special emphasis on children from disadvantaged households and in challenging or unique circumstances.
The Haryana State Creche Policy-2022 is attached to the document as Annexure- ‘A’.
