The Government of Manipur on July 20, 2023, appealed to all General Public including Media Houses to take down any videos/ posts/ re-posts on social media or refrain/ restrain themselves from creating/ spreading any information/ rumours/ remarks/ comments through any medium related to the alleged incident/ such incidents or otherwise, which will or is likely to aggravate the prevailing law and order situation in the State.
The State Government strongly condemns the alleged incident in which miscreants allegedly posted videos of two women acting awkwardly while committing sexual assault and other acts of violence against women on social media platforms. These videos went viral and are likely to worsen the current law and order situation in the State.
