Labour Complianceclass="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E) on July 24, 2023, issued a notification regarding the National Programme for Child Labour Free India under the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986.

The following has been stated: -

•Complete prohibition of work or employment of children below 14 years in any occupation and process and adolescents in the age group of 14 to 18 years in hazardous occupations and processes.

•A committee under the chairpersonship of the Secretary (Labour & Employment) has been constituted to coordinate efforts across ministries and sectors for the prevention of child labor.

•A model State Action Plan enumerating action points to be taken by respective State Governments for eradication of child labor including migrant, girl, and SC/ST children has been formulated.

•All States and UTs are requested to conduct household surveys annually for the purpose of identification of the Out of School Children. This includes dropouts and never enrolled children.
