The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on July 27, 2023, issued a notification regarding the Clarification Relating to the Implementation of Quality Control Orders On Sandals, Slippers, and Hawai Chappals.
The following has been stated: -
•IS No. for Rubber Hawai Chappal is revised to Hawai Chappal IS 10702:2023.
•IS No. for Rubber Slipper and PVC Sandal is revised to Sandal and Slipper IS 6721:2023.
•The manufacturers making the products as per these revised specifications will be given an additional time of 6 months to comply i.e. up to December 31, 2023.
