The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) on July 27, 2023, issued a notification regarding the rules governing Bharat (BH) series registration marks under the Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2022.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2022 aimed to allow vehicles owned by eligible individuals with regular registration marks to be converted to BH series registration marks.
•The Ministry on December 14, 2022, published the rules and officially notified the amendments in the rules governing Bharat (BH) series registration marks. The changes now permit the conversion of vehicles currently registered under regular registration marks to BH series registration marks, in addition to the existing provisions.
•The update aims to streamline the registration process and offer more flexibility to eligible vehicle owners to opt for the BH series registration mark for their vehicles.
