The Government of Maharashtra on July 27, 2023, issued the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and other Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) and Maharashtra Private Security Guards (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) (Amendment) Bill, 2023 to further amend the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and other Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) Act, 1969 and Maharashtra Private Security Guards (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) Act, 1981.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Amendment to the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal, and Other Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) Act, 1969.
1. Section 5A which states “Constitution of Maharashtra Unprotected Workers Regulatory Authority” and Section 5 B which states “Powers and functions of Authority” has been inserted.
2. The Schedule has been substituted.
• Amendment to the Maharashtra Private Security Guards (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) Act, 1981.
1. Section 15 of the Private Security Guards Act shall be deleted
2. Section 18A which states “Appeals” has been inserted
