The Government of Assam on July 24, 2023, notified the Assam Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Rules, 2023 further to amend the Assam Motor Vehicle Rules, 2003
The amendments are as follows: -
•In the principal Rules, in rule 112, for sub-rule (3), the following shall be substituted namely: - (3) These licenses shall be in force for five years and thereafter may be renewed for another five years on an application to the Licensing Authority which granted the license not less than six days before the date of expiry. In case of non-renewal of license in time a fine of Rs. 50/- per day shall be imposed.
No objections or suggestions were received from any individual or organization with respect to the rules.
They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
