The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on August 02, 2023, issued a notification regarding the revised fee and timeline for the use of pre-printed packaging material.
The following has been stated: -
•This office has been in receipt of application(s) from Food Business Operators (FBOs) to use pre-printed packaging material which is non-complying with the FSS (Labelling & Display) Regulation, 2020, and its amendments. In this context, it has been decided to grant a final One-time permission up to December 31, 2023, to the FBOs seeking permission to use such non-complying pre-printed packaging materials (PPMs).
•The revised fee for any FBO applying for permission to use the above-said PPMs shall be Rs. 30,000/- + GST (for central license) and Rs. 12,000/. + GST (for state license).
