The Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoL&E) on August 04, 2023, issued a notification regarding the services engaged in the iron and steel industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government declares the services engaged in the iron and steel industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for a further period of six months with effect from August 17, 2023.
