The Government of Maharashtra on August 04, 2023, notified the Insecticides (Maharashtra Amendment) Act, 2023 further to amend the Insecticides Act, 1968, in its application to the State of Maharashtra.
The following has been amended: -
•After section 29 of the Insecticides Act, 1968, in its application to the State of Maharashtra, the following section shall be inserted, namely: —
“29A. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, the offences punishable under sub-section (1) of section 29, shall be cognizable and non-bailable.”
