The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on August 09, 2023, notified the Aircraft (Security) Rules, 2023 in supersession of the Aircraft (Security) Rules, 2011.
The amendment is as follows: -
•Rule 2 lays down various definitions like acts of unlawful interference, aircraft operator, and others.
•Rule 3 talks about the Role and responsibilities of the Director General for carrying out regulatory and oversight functions in respect of matters relating to civil aviation security.
•Rule 4 talks about the establishment of a National Civil Aviation Security Committee.
•Rule 5 talks about the establishment of an Airport Security Committee.
They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
