The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on August 11, 2023, issued a notification regarding Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020.
The following has been stated: -
•The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways may carry out authentication using biometric/ One Time Password methods as well as e-KYC service for the e-Governance applications of the Ministry through its implementing agency, National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited shall abide by the terms and conditions of the Memorandum of Understanding entered into between the Ministry and National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for sub-authentication user agency mentioned under rule 4 of the said rules.
This notification shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
