The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on August 11, 2023, notified the Fire Extinguishers (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
The following is stated-
•The Bureau shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles i.e. Fire Extinguishers.
•Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of The Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
•It shall come into force with effect six months from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette:
Provided that Micro enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, shall come into force twelve months from this notification's publication date.
Provided that for Small Enterprises, as defined under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, it shall come into force nine months from this notification's publication date.
