The Urban Development Department, Maharashtra on August 09, 2023, issued a notification Prohibiting strikes by employees employed in essential service.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Brihan Mumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking of the Municipal Corporation of Brihan Mumbai being the services and posts in connection with the transport service for the carriage of passengers by land and also with the affairs of the said local authorities, is considered to be the essential service.
• The strike has been prohibited from August 09, 2023.
