EHS ComplianceThe National Medical Commission (NMC) on August 03, 2023, issued the National Medical Commission Registered Medical Practitioner (Professional Conduct) Regulations, 2023.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Duties and responsibilities of the Registered Medical Practitioners(RMP) – it shall be deemed that the RMP has read and agreed to abide by these regulations

• The Consultation fees should be made known to the patient before examination or treatment of the patient.

• Every RMP should prescribe drugs using generic names written legibly and prescribe drugs rationally, avoiding unnecessary medications and irrational fixed-dose combination tablets.

• The procedure for a complaint of professional misconduct and the manner of inquiry has been stated

• The Generic Medicine and Prescription Guidelines have been stated

 

This shall come into force on August 03, 2023
