The Government of Himachal on May 25, 2023, issued a Corrigendum to The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending bye-laws -2021
The following has been amended namely: -
• In section 2 which states “definitions” In sub-clause 2(v) which states 2(v) “stationery” shall be corrected as “stationary”
• In Section 3 which states “Minimum age of street vendor” the following sub-clauses shall be rectified as follows namely: -
(i) In subclauses 3(a)(i) & 3(a)(ii) the word ‘venders’ shall be corrected as “vendor”
(ii) in 3(b)(i) which states “There shall not be any stationary street vending on a road having a width equal to 3 meters. However, after due approval from the Town Vending Committee, one side street vending shall be allowed if such road is declared as no vehicular road” shall be read as follows namely”: -
“There shall not be any stationary street vending on a road having a width up to 5 meters.
However, if the road width is between 3 meters to 5 meters, after due approval from the Town Vending Committee, one side street vending shall be allowed if such road is declared as no vehicular road”
• in section 13(a) which states “Who had been surveyed and registered (provided with ID cards/COV) by the local authority in past will be considered” shall be substituted as follows namely: -
“Who had been surveyed are found eligible and registered (provided with ID cards/ COV) by the local authority in the past will be considered among which local residents of the corporation shall be given preference.”
