The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on August 14, 2023, issued a notification regarding the consolidated Indian Telegraph Right of Way Rules, 2016.
The amendment is as follows: -
•Rule 2 lays down the definitions of various terms like appropriate authority, underground telegraph infrastructure, and others.
•Chapter II deals with the Establishment and Maintenance of Underground Telegraph Infrastructure.
•Chapter III talks about the Establishment of ground Telegraph Infrastructure.
•Rule 14 talks about the Disputes between the licensee and the appropriate authority.
