Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Maharashtra on August 14, 2023, issued the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions to the Full Time Professional Degree Technical Courses) (First Amendment) Rules, 2023 further to amend the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions to the Full Time Professional Degree Technical Courses) Rules, 2018.

The following amendment has been stated:

• In rule 2, in sub-rule (1), 

o after clause (a), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:— 

“(a-i) “Admission Process Centre” means center allotted by the respective Agricultural University, where the Centerwise Centralized Admission (CCA) Round for some selected colleges will be carried out;”; 

o after clause (f), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:— 

(i) “(f-i) “Centerwise Centralized Admission (CCA) Round” means the round conducted after Centralized Admission Process (CAP) Round to fill the vacant seats from merit list candidates, as per rules. The merit list is prepared for such candidates who are physically present in the respective Admission Process Centers. This Admission process shall be conducted considering eligibility, reservation and merit of the candidate and not considering the preferences given by the respective candidates;”; (ii) “(f-ii) “College Level Admission (CLA) Round” means round conducted after the Centerwise Centralized Admission (CCA) Round, by the college to fill the vacant seats, till the last date of (Cut-off date) admission process;”; 

o clauses (q) and (r) shall be deleted.

• In rule 9, in sub-rule (1), for clause (b) the following clause shall be substituted, namely: —

“(b) Filling Online Application and Options Form by candidates for participation in the Centralized Admission Process, candidates may fill maximum choices of colleges and courses in decreasing order of their preference as specified by the Competent Authority. After confirming the online Application Form, it will be considered for the CAP round. Candidates may fill in separate preferences for each round of all further Centralized Admission Process (CAP) Rounds. If the candidate does not give a separate preference for the next round, then the preference of the immediate previous round of admission should be considered.”.
