The Excise, Registration, Taxation, and Stamps Department, Meghalaya on August 08, 2023, issued the Meghalaya (Sales of Petroleum and Petroleum Products) including Motor Spirit and Lubricants) Taxation (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the Meghalaya (Sale of Petroleum and Petroleum Products including Motor Spirit and Lubricants) Taxation Rules, [Assam (Sales of Petroleum and Petroleum Products including Motor Spirit and Lubricants) Taxation Rules,1956 as adapted by Meghalaya].
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 16 has been substituted to state: -
“The returns of sale of taxable goods under Section 10 shall be furnished to the Superintendent of Taxes so as to reach that officer within 30 (thirty) days following the end of the month”
