The Government of Punjab on August 11, 2023, published the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Rules, 2023 to further amend the amend the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2008
This shall come into force on August 11, 2023
The following has been amended namely: -
• In rule in rule 260 states “Membership” in sub-rule (3), for the words, sign and figures “A certificate from the employer or the contractor in form- XXVII”, the following words, signs and figures shall be substituted, namely: -
“A certificate, from the employer or the contractor or any other person or authority or officer who is authorized by the Board, in Form-XXVII”.
• In rule 261 which states “Contribution to the Fund”, in sub-rule (1), for the words and signs “This contribution shall be remitted in advance once in three months in any of the banks, specified by the Board in the district, in which the member resides.”, the following words, signs and figures shall be substituted, namely: -
“This contribution shall be remitted in advance for a period of one year at the time of applying for registration or renewal of registration in any of the banks, specified by the Board in the district, in which the member resides or in cash receipt (as prescribed in form no. XXXIV)”.
• In the said rules, for Form No. XXVII, the following Form shall be substituted, namely: -
“Form No. XXVII- Certificate by the Employer/Contractor/ Authorized officer or authority regarding employment of building or other Construction worker
