The Government of Goa on August 17, 2023, issued the Scheme to Promote for Conservation of the Environment, Ecology, and issues pertaining to Climate Change Awareness by Educational Institutions, Research Institutions, and NGOs/VGOs, through means of conducting workshops and exhibitions and also providing assistance for participation in seminars/workshops in India or Abroad
This scheme shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain valid for a period of five years.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This scheme aims in promoting the conservation of the Environment, Ecology, and issues pertaining to Climate Change awareness by providing financial support to High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools, Colleges, Research Institutions and NGOs, VGOs, Registered Societies, and Publications for organizing seminars/workshop and awareness programs as well as organizing Environment, Ecology & Climate Change based exhibitions.
• The scheme also envisages providing financial assistance for encouraging participation in seminars/workshops in India and Abroad by teaching faculties, researchers, and subject specialty experts in the field of Environment, Ecology and addressing the issue of Climate Change
• It states that a maximum of 10 teaching faculties/subject specialty experts/researchers in the field of Environment, Ecology, and issues pertaining to Climate Change will be assisted to participate in Seminars/Workshops in India or Abroad & the proposal should be forwarded by the Directorate of Education/ /Higher Education/Goa University.
• It states that the grantee shall be entitled to receive Government grants based on the provisions made by the Government in the Budget Estimate during the particular financial year, and the same will be sanctioned as per the terms and conditions laid down by the Government.
