The Department of Science and Technology & Waste Management, Goa on August 17, 2023, issued the “Equal Opportunity Policy for Persons with Disabilities” (PwDs).
The following has been stated namely: -
• The objective of the policy is:
1. To provide fair and impartial opportunities for persons with disabilities in the recruitment process.
2. To provide a helpful and barrier-free working environment to the person with disabilities.
3. To protect the right and safeguard the rights and interests of the person with disabilities and that no opportunity is denied to the person with disabilities merely on the ground of disability.
• The scope of the policy is:
1. To not discriminate against any person with a disability in the matter relating to employment.
2. To provide reasonable accommodation and appropriate barrier-free and conducive environment to employees with disability.
3. That no promotion shall be denied to a person merely on the ground of disability
• Redressal of grievances and disputes:
1. That the Department has appointed Grievance Redressal Officer to address the grievances of the person with disabilities.
