The Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM) on July 27, 2023, issued a notification regarding the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for NCR including the NCT of Delhi
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the commission directs the following namely:-
(i) strict implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (Revised in July 2023), as annexed, in the NCR by all concerned.
(ii) This revised GRAP, annexed to this Direction shall come into force with effect from October 01, 2023.
• It states that The GRAP for the NCR has been classified under 4 different stages of adverse air quality in Delhi namely: -
(i) Stage - I Poor (AQl 201 - 300).
(ii) Stage - II Very Poor (AQl 301400)
(iii) Stage - III 'Severe' (AQl 401,450)
(iv) Stage – IV 'Severe +' (AQl >450) respectively.
• It states that Based on the dynamic model weather/ meteorological forecast by IMD / IITM on a day-to-day basis, actions under Stages II, III, and IV of the GRAP shall be invoked at least three days in advance of the AQI reaching the projected levels of that stage. 3. Restrictive actions undertaken as per previous stages shall be continued, in addition to the air pollution stage under which the restrictive actions are envisaged to be taken. For example, restrictive actions under the Stage Ill category, whenever invoked, shall be in addition to those under Stage I and ll respectively, and so on and so forth.
