The Government of Maharashtra on August 24, 2023, notified the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies (Third Amendment) Act, 2023 to amend the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960.
The following has been amended: -
•In section 73 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960, (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Act”), in sub-section (1A), in clause (a), for the words “three months from the date of its registration”, the words “three months from the date of its registration or reconstruction, as the case may be” shall be substituted.
•In section 101 of the principal Act, in sub-section (1), the word “individual” shall be deleted.
It shall be deemed to have come into force on July 10, 2023.
