The Urban Development Department, Maharashtra on August 26, 2023, issued a notification to prohibit the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited from strike from August 26, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited is engaged in providing bus services to the public in the Municipal Corporation of the City of Pune and the Municipal Corporation of the City of Pimpri-Chinchwad
• The aforesaid services are the essential service within the meaning of sub-clauses (i) and (v) of clause (a) of section 2 of the Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act, 2023
• The Government of Maharashtra hereby prohibits the strike from August 26, 2023, by the said employees employed in the said essential service.
