The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on August 29, 2023, published the Guidelines for running B.E/B. Tech Program for Working Professionals in AICTE-Approved Institutions.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that the AICTE has Approved institutes to run B.E/B. Tech Program/Courses from the A/y 2023-24 for working Professionals only in the approved disciplines/courses having NBA Accreditation.
• The following guidelines are applicable to run the courses for Working Professionals namely: -
(i) Eligibility for Admission –
(a) Professionals working in Registered industry / Organization (CentraI /State) / Private/ Public Limited Company/ MSMEs located within 50 Km radial distance from the institute.
(b) Minimum of one year of full-time / Regular Working Experience
(c) Qualification Same as candidates eligible for Lateral Entry to the Second Year (As Specified in the Approval Process Handbook published by ATCTE from time to time)
(ii) Duration of the Course-
(a) Same as Lateral Entry to Second Year with a total course duration NOT less than THREE years, so as to fulfill the total contact hours as prescribed by the Affiliating University for completion of the duration of the course.
(b) Timings for the conduct of classes normally shall be in the evening hours/any flexible convenient timings(including weekends/holidays) in alignment with the timings of the Industry / Organization.
(c) The mode of Conduct of Classes shall be as applicable for Regular Programs as defined in the AICTE Public Notice Vide. No. AICTE/AB/Academic 2021, dated August 13, 2020.
