The Ministry of Power (MoP) on September 11, 2023, issued a notification regarding the withdrawal of the Guidelines and Clarification of Discoms continuing with drawing power after completion of the term of the PPA and implementation of the scheme for pooling of tariff of those plants whose PPAs have expired
The following has been stated namely: -
• It is clarified that the guidelines issued by this Ministry vide letters dated March 22, 2021, and clarification dated July 05, 2021, stand superseded vide MoP Scheme dated April 20, 2023, regarding the Scheme for Pooling of Tariff of those plants whose PPAs have expired
• It further states that the State/ Discoms may place a requisition for taking power from the pool after the expiry of the current PPA.
