EHS Compliance

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on September 11, 2023, issued a notification regarding the amendments in Hazardous waste rules known as “The Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022”.

The following has been stated: -

·   Producers and Recyclers as under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022 MoEFC has notified amendments in Hazardous waste rules known as “The Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022”, to include provisions for utilization & management of waste tyre.

·       CPCB has made an Interim arrangement for the generation of the EPR End Product credits (Certificates) by Recycler and transferred the end product credits to Producers through the portal for the fulfillment of the EPR Obligation of Producer. For the generation and transfer of EPR Certificates on the EPR Portal, recyclers are required to maintain records of procurement of Raw material, sales of end producers, and EPR Certificate transactions in Excel sheets. The instruction sheet for the interim arrangement is in Annexure – I.

·      CPCB is facilitating this interim arrangement for meeting EPR obligations and producers & recyclers shall have sole responsibility for malpractices/violations, if any.
