Commercial ComplianceThe Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) on September 14, 2023, issued a notification to amend the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (Amendment) Order, 2023, vide number S.O. 2566(E) dated June 12, 2023.

The following amendment has been stated:

In the said Order, Paragraph 2(i) shall be replaced as under: 

“2(i) Wheat for a period up to 31st March 2024 with the following stock limits for all States and Union Territories: 

o Traders/Wholesaler: 2000 MT; 

o Retailer: 10 MT for each Retail outlet. 

o Big Chain Retailer: 10 MT for each outlet and 2000 MT at all their depot. 

o Processors: 75% of annual installed capacity or quantity equivalent to monthly installed capacity multiplied by remaining months of 2023-24, whichever is less.”
