Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on September 14, 2023, issued amendments to the Communication Security Certification Scheme & Procedure for Security Certification of Telecom Equipment.

The following amendments have been stated:

• In the Communication Security Certification Scheme (ComSec), Clause 9.2 of Document Number: NCCS/ComSec/01/30032020 is amended as, 

“Security Certificates issued for equipment will be valid for Ten years (instead of earlier 5 years) subject to compliance to the applicable ITSAR amended from time to time”

• In the Procedure for Security Certification of Telecommunication Equipment: 

o Clause 4.5 of Document Number: NCCS/SC/01/30032020 is amended as 

“The Certificate shall be valid for Ten years (instead of earlier 5 years) from the date of issue” 

o Clause 8.3 of Document Number: NCCS/SC/01/30032020 is amended as, 

“After evaluation of the renewal application, a fresh certificate valid for another Ten years (instead of earlier 5 years) shall be issued, indicating the previous certificate number thereon”.
