The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on September 12, 2023, issued the Quality of Service (Code of Practice for Metering and Billing Accuracy) Regulations, 2023.
The following has been stated namely: -
• These regulations shall be applicable to all the service providers having-
1. Unified Access Service License
2. Unified License with authorization for Access Service
• The Appointment of an auditor for the audit of metering and billing systems has been stated in the notification
• The Submission of the audit report and action taken report and the Consequences for the failure of the service provider to submit the audit report or action taken report have been stated.
• The Code of Practice for Metering and Billing Accuracy has been attached to the Schedule
This shall come into force on April 01, 2024
