The Government of Himachal Pradesh on August 28, 2023, notified the Himachal Pradesh Forest Produce Transportation (by Land) Amendment Rules, 2023 further amended the Himachal Pradesh Forest Produce Transportation (by Land) Rules, 2013.
The following has been stated: -
•In Rule 8 which talks about Prohibition on the transport of Forest Produce (a) For sub-rule (1), the following shall be substituted, namely: - “No person shall transport or cause to be transported any forest produce without obtaining a pass for export or transport of forest produce as per Annexure ‘A’ from the concerned Divisional Forest Officer or any officer or person so authorized”,
and (b) For sub-rule (4), the following shall be substituted, namely: - “No person shall transport or cause to be transported any timber unless the timber is properly affixed with an export hammer mark by the forest officer authorized by the Conservator of Forests concerned”.
•In rule 9 which talks about the Transport Routes and other conditions (a) for sub-rule (1), the following shall be substituted, namely: - “(1) The authority issuing pass shall specify a route by which alone forest produce may be transported within the State of Himachal Pradesh”; and (b) sub-rule (2) shall be deleted.
