The University Grants Commission (UGC) on September 19, 2023, issued a notification regarding the declaration of institutions as Deemed to be Universities under the UGC Act, 1956.
The following has been stated: -
•As per the UGC (institutions Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2023, UGC has developed an Application Portal. The portal is open with effect from September 19, 2023.
• Applications to establish Deemed-to-be Universities under General and distinct categories and campus centers are invited from eligible applicants.
•Interested sponsoring bodies/HEls are requested to submit applications along with necessary documents on the Portal.
