The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFC) on September 18, 2023, notified the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Second Amendment Rules, 2023 further to amend the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
The following has been stated: -
•In the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), after Chapter VI, the following Chapter shall be inserted, namely: -
Chapter VII talks about Extended Producer Responsibility for Used Oil.
They shall come into force from April 01, 2024.
