The Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers (MoCF) on September 20, 2023, issued a notification regarding the guidelines on the Policy for Promotion of Organic Fertilizers
The following has been stated namely: -
• It states that All manufacturing-cum-marketing entities including CBG/Bio-gas operators, marketers/distributors under the umbrella GOBARdhan initiative; and registered on the Unified GOBARdhan portal of the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation and Fertilizer Marketing Companies marketing their organic fertilizers, shall be eligible for Market Development Assistance (MDA) for the promotion of organic fertilizers
• The registration of the manufacturing plants with the Unified GOBARdhan portal of the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation and the organic fertilizers are pre-requisite conditions for availing Market Development Assistance.
• There will be a corpus for gap funding/research to be utilized only by Central/State Research Institutes or non-private fertilizer cooperatives.
• The provision of Market Development Assistance (MDA)/Corpus shall be for three years (FY 2023-24 to FY 2025-2 6).
• The Market Development Assistance of T1,500/MT on the sale of organic fertilizers produced at plants under the umbrella GOBARdhan initiative shall be applicable with effect from April 01, 2023, or the date of actual sales captured on iFMS
