Commercial ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on September 21, 2023, issued a press release regarding the extension in the date for mandatory testing of Transport Vehicles through Automated Testing Stations

This has a reference to the notification no GSR. 663 dated September 12, 2023, regarding the extension of the date for mandatory testing of Transport Vehicles

The following has been stated namely: -

• It states that the date for mandatory testing is extended to October 01, 2024. It also mandated that fitness testing of the vehicle shall be done only through an automated testing station where the automated testing station registered under rule 175 is operational in the jurisdiction of a registering authority.

• The dates which were earlier notified vide GSR notification 272(E) dated April 05, 2022 as under namely: -

(i) For Heavy Goods Vehicles/Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles with effect from April 01, 2023 onwards.

(ii) For Medium Goods Vehicles/Medium Passenger Motor Vehicles and Light Motor Vehicles (Transport) with effect from June 01, 2024 onwards.
