The Government of Madhya Pradesh on September 25, 2023, amended the Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palika (Colony Development) Rules, 2021.
The following has been stated: -
•In Rule 23, in sub-rule (1) For the date "December 31, 2016", the date December 31, 2022" shall be substituted.
•In Rule 24, for sub-rule (1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely: -
(1) In unauthorized colonies identified under sub-rule (4) of rule 23, no development fee will be charged to the residents of the Low Income Group (LIG) and the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). For the remaining other residents, 50% amount of the development fee shall be charged individually and the remaining 50% amount shall be borne by the concerned body:
Provided that the Low Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) residents shall be required to submit a certificate of Low Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) issued by the competent authority.
